  • Adapt the UW Farm to a more innovative, resilient, sustainable food system in the face of climate change impacts with a modified north-wall high tunnel, a USDA-approved method for season extension and food waste reduction
  • Provide produce in greater, more nutritious, and more reliable quantities to the UW Food Pantry, campus, and the community
  • Creating a community educational space that supports instruction, research, and the study of innovative practices through the demonstration of new technology; 
  • Support campus efforts towards action VI of the UW Sustainability Action Plan,involving a target that 35% of campus food is from local sources by 2025
  • Fostering cultural reciprocity by raising awareness of the impacts of cultural assimilation and building relationships with indigenous groups on campus; and
  • Provide undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to shadow the project delivery process
